yell-o asked: I'm reading Travesties right now! Tell me how you like it. I love Stoppard.

I love everything Stoppard, but have always been particularly drawn to his language.  Clearly the man has a brilliant mind for idea, nuance, story and character, but it’s his language that sets him apart.  Travesties is the zenith of that combination in comedy.  While Arcadia is simply pure brilliance, and Rosencrantz & Guildenstern are Dead is a twisty little joy for Shakespeare lovers, Travesties is just all hysterical intellect.

I recommend Steve Martin’s play Picasso at the Lapin Agile for another comedy about great minds meeting and the humorous and intelligent conversations that a playwright can imagine come of it.
